SAŠO VOLLMAIER

After completing his studies at the Ljubljana Academy of Music, Sašo Vollmaier (1982) began to develop his musical style, which was influenced by the various groups he worked with - from chamber music to alternative music. In recent years, he has been active in the field of performance and theater. His performances include stage design of sound with interventions of movement and spoken words. He creates music for dance and theater performances. His passion for the human voice brought him to the Center Artistique International Roy Hart in the south of France (Malérargues), where he works as a pedagogue, preparing singers and actors for their roles. 

Vollmaier is also a collaborator of the band Laibach, with whom he actively worked as a keyboardist in 2007-2013, and is now engaged as an arranger and studio musician. His solo activity was revived in 2020 in collaboration with Cankarjev dom at the 61st Ljubljana Jazz Festival, where he presented his piano solo Vollmaier: Kind of Laibach; and in April 2023 he presented himself with the premiere of Vollmaier: Ligeti (How to explain Ligeti to a dead audience) in the Gallus hall of Cankarjev dom.
