JANEZ DOVČ & GORAN KRMAC

Music duo Dovč-Krmac has been active for over a decade. Through collaborations in Sozvočja Slovenije, the Baraka trio, Goran Krmac Quartet, and other ensembles, these renowned musicians have gathered experience and built a unique repertoire, performing with freedom, honesty, humor, and creativity. They combine the distinctive sounds of accordion and tuba with foot-percussion rhythms, colorful effects, and occasional use of other instruments, living in the space between folk, ethno, jazz, and many other musical styles.

Janez Dovč, an accordionist and composer, is one of Slovenia’s most prominent contemporary musicians. As a musician, composer, and producer, he has collaborated with numerous ethno, classical, pop, and jazz soloists in Slovenia and abroad, and has composed music for film and theater. His notable works include the project Sounds of Slovenia, the critically acclaimed album AkordeON, and the music performance Tesla. He has contributed music for more than 15 Slovenian and international feature films, including the Vesna-awarded soundtrack for the film Drevo by director Sonja Prosenc. Dovč is also the founder and artistic director of Celinka.si and the Godibodi Festival, creating spaces that support and promote quality Slovenian music.

Goran Krmac is a musician, composer, and arranger, active since 2010. He expresses his creativity as a virtuoso tubist with jazz, folk, and classical influences. Krmac has collaborated with recognized musicians from diverse genres, appearing on over a dozen recordings. He is also known for his original music for stage and film, including the documentary Mesto svetlobe (City of Light) in 2018. In 2019, he premiered Planetarium, a project for solo tuba and electronically manipulated sound. Krmac has also worked with notable Slovenian jazz, pop, and folk artists, such as Janez Dovč, Kaja Draksler, Robert Jukič, and Big Band RTV Slovenija. Since 2013, he has been the artistic director of Big Band Cerknica.
