DEJAN ROMIH

Dejan Romih (Slovenia, 2002) started studying piano in 2012 in the class of Maja Desnica (Serbia). After four years he had already advanced to the secondary Music High School in Celje. From 2015 until 2019 he has been continuing his studies with professor Primož Mavrič. At the moment he is finishing his Bachelor degree in the class of Aleksandar Madžar at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussels. Since the beginning of his musical career he has been part of many national and international competitions, participated in piano masterclasses of acclaimed pianists and professors, and performed several solo concerts. He has won 1., 2. and 3. prizes in international competitions such as Carynthian International Piano Competition 2017 (1. Prize and 1st place), Ars Nova 2017 – Italy (1. Prize and Laureate), Holmar Malborgetto – Italy (2. Prize), International Piano and Violin Competition Pirano 2018 (2. Prize), International Piano Competition Janez Matičič (3. Prize). In 2019 he won 2. Prize in National Competition for Young Musicians of Slovenia Temsig. In 2019 he performed as a soloist with Matjaž Brežnik and The Celje Youth Symphonic Orchestra. He is supported by Triglav foundation Mladi up (2020). In the next year of 2021 he has performed with the Slovenian Symphonic Chamber orchestra. Since the beginning of his musical career he has attended masterclasses with piano professors such as Laszo Stacho, Justin Krawitz, Jasminka Stančul, Valentina Češnjevar, Miha Haas, Hinko Haas, Aleksandar Serdar, Julia Gubaidulina, Ruben Dalibaltayan and others.

Since recent years he is exploring baroque music of J. S. Bach and Jean-Philippe Rameau, therefore his programme is comprised of baroque works, paired with the romantic fervour and sentiment of Robert Schumann and mystic touch of Scriabin.
